What is Profhilo?

Do you know what Profhilo (Non-Surgical Face Lift) is? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Profhilo is an injectable anti-aging skin remodelling treatment which contains one of the highest concentrations of hydrochloric acid (HA) on the market.

It is a carbohydrate molecule that is naturally produced within our own bodies.

Profhilo is injected just under the surface of the skin, which then floods the area with hydration reducing fine lines and wrinkles, stimulates skin cell generation and enhances skin firmness and elasticity encouraging skin rejuvenation.

The treatment is biocompatible due to it’s pure grade hyaluronic acid, which is free from additives, therefore reducing side effects and offering greater safety.

How does Profhilo work?

HA is hydrophilic, meaning it draws and holds water from your body, so Profhilo acts as a hydrator rather than a filler. This makes it fantastic for those with tired, dull-looking skin, transforming it into firm and luminous skin.

As we age the levels of collagen, elastin’s and Hyaluronic acid (the scaffolding/structure) in the skin rapidly drop resulting in signs of ageing such as fine lines, wrinkles and lacklustre skin. Profhilo acts to reverse some of these changes.

What to expect

A single course of Profhilo is given over 2 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart, Profhilo is absorbed within a 2cm radius of its injection site, so to treat the face only 10 injection points are needed in total. (5 each side)

Over the next few weeks collagen and elastin production is stimulated, producing a secondary effect of skin tightening.  The maximum effect of Profhilo is usually seen 2 months after the second treatment.

Recovery

The downtime following a treatment is minimal, and you should be able to return to normal ‘light’ daily activities immediately after your procedure.  However, we recommend that you avoid physical strain and sports on the first day after the treatment, and don’t have a sauna or steamy bath for the first few days.  You should also avoid intense sun or UV light exposure for the first few days after treatment.

Are there any side effects?

As with all aesthetic non-surgical treatments there is a risk of side-effects, such as minor bruising or swelling at the injection sites. Although rare, these generally subside quickly when they do.
