Micro-needling

Microneedling is a minimally-invasive anti-aging treatment that can reduce the appearance of wrinkles, eliminate visible scars (including acne scars), and reverse sun damage and pigmentation. Also known as collagen induction therapy, micro-needling involves using tiny needles to make hundreds of punctures into the top layer of your skin. These invisible punctures stimulate your body’s natural healing process to promote cell turnover and increase collagen production.

What is Micro-needling?

Micro-needling is essentially controlled dermal damage using fine needles that prick the skin. During this process your skin stimulates collagen and elastin production, it’s also super effective in addressing acne and other scars on your skin. The only type of scar not possible to treat is keloid, or raised, scars.

Micro-needling wounds are minuscule and only skin-deep, but your body responds with alarm, sending in healing factors that boost skin strength, radiance, and health.

Micro-needling makes your skin glow after just one treatment and continues to boost the appearance of your complexion for months afterward. The benefits of micro-needling are many.

Ageing, Lines and Wrinkles
No one wants to look older than they are. But premature aging that presents as fine lines and wrinkles does just that and as we age the skin loses elasticity and will appear lax and dull and lack a healthy glow. the tiny injuries from a micro-needling session boost collagen and elastin production to fight lines and wrinkles.

Collagen and elastin are compounds in your skin that add structure and strength, lending a youthful quality. The wound-healing mechanisms also stimulate your body to produce new skin cells, making fine lines, crow’s feet, and forehead wrinkles less apparent.

ACNE & SCARRING. Because micro-needling stimulates collagen and elastin production, it’s also very effective in addressing acne and other scars on your skin. The new collagen that’s formed will help to plump and smooth out the skin, leaving a smoother more even surface. The only type of scar not possible to treat is keloid, or raised, scars.

Pores appear much smaller when the collagen around your pores is stimulated, the area around each pore plumps, making the pore itself almost disappear.

Sun Damage
Micro-needling is effective in reducing the appearance of sun damage, particularly hyperpigmentation and age spots. If you have a blotchy, brownish complexion, which is probably a result of too many days of sunning, micro-needling and its ability to stimulate new collagen and skin cells can reinvigorate your look and even out your tone.
